determinable

determinable的音标是[dɪˈtɜːmɪnəbl],基本翻译是可决定的,可确定的。速记技巧是可以在单词后加上able,表示可以…的,帮助记忆单词的含义。

Determinable words are those that can be modified by a determiner, such as a or an, to indicate possession or quantity. Some common English determiners include a, an, my, your, his, her, its, our, their, etc. The origin of these words can be traced back to Latin or French.

Here are ten English words with determiners:

1. "A" - This word comes from the Latin "una," meaning "one." It is used to indicate possession or quantity of one or more items. Examples: "a book," "a pen," "a friend."

2. "An" - This word comes from the Latin "uno," meaning "one." It is used to indicate possession or quantity of something that is not easily named or identified. Examples: "an orange," "an umbrella," "an idea."

3. "My" - This word comes from the French "mieu," which in turn comes from the Latin "meius," meaning "mine." It is used to indicate possession of something that belongs to the speaker. Example: "My car is parked outside."

4. "Your" - This word comes from the French "leu," which in turn comes from the Latin "tuius," meaning "yours." It is used to refer to something that belongs to someone else. Example: "Your keys are on the table."

5. "His/Her/Its" - These words come from the Latin "suus/suus/suius," meaning "his/her/its." They are used to refer to a person or thing that belongs to someone else. Example: "His name is John," "Her favorite color is blue," "Its wings are long and thin."

6. "Our" - This word comes from the French "nostre," which in turn comes from the Latin "noster," meaning "ourselves." It is used to refer to something that belongs to oneself and others. Example: "Our class meets every Tuesday."

7. "Their" - This word comes from the French "theiur," which in turn comes from the Latin "theius," meaning "themselves." It is used to refer to something that belongs to more than one person or thing. Example: "They are going on vacation next week."

8. Predeterminer - A predeterminer is a word that comes before a determiner and indicates possession or quantity of something. Examples: "All my money," "Many their cars."

9. Determiner suffix - A determiner suffix is a suffix that is added to a word to change its meaning from a noun or adjective to a determiner. Examples: "-some" (indicating possibility), "-any" (indicating possibility), "-no" (indicating negation).

10. Definite article - The definite article is a word such as "the" or "a/an" that indicates a specific item or group of items. It is often used in reference to a known item or group of items. Example: "The book I read yesterday was great."

Determiners play an important role in English grammar and help us express possession and quantity clearly and accurately.

英文小作文:

When it comes to success, we all have our own goals and dreams. But in order to achieve those goals, we must first determine our direction and then work hard towards it. Success is not just about having a good idea or being lucky enough to hit the jackpot, it"s about being determined and putting in the effort to make it happen.

Whether it"s starting a business, achieving a career goal, or just making a difference in our own lives, we must be willing to put in the time and effort required to make it happen. Success is not guaranteed, but with determination and hard work, we can achieve anything we set our minds to. So, don"t let anyone tell you that you can"t do something, because with enough determination and effort, you can achieve anything you put your mind to.
